Why do people go to therapy?
Basically, people come to therapy for one or more of the following reasons:

• Their relationship is falling apart
• Their job is falling apart
• Their marriage is falling apart, or
• They feel like they themselves are falling apart

They come to therapy hoping that everything can be put back together the way it was
Unfortunately, usually things can’t be put back together the way they were, because if they could, they wouldn’t have fallen apart in the first place.
Nor can they be put together perfectly, without some cracks and scars and broken places

What I can tell you is this: That working together, what will result will be stronger and more solid than what you had before.

My name is Larry Letich…..

Another reason people come to therapy is that, at some point in their lives, they lost confidence in their ability to create a life that gives them pleasure and happiness. For some people, this may have happened only recently. For others, it may have happened when they were 20. Or 16. Or 10. Or three. Or even six months old.

Whenever it was, we need to find that spark, that tiny shoot that says I know what I want out of life, I know what I need to be happy, and help that shoot come back to trusting life again.

Honestly, therapy is a special kind of relationship, and a special type of conversation. At its best, it’s a process not of fixing what you are, but of discovering more and more of who you are. You know the stories of people discovering that some ugly, discarded, unimpressive object found in the barn is a rare and valuable antique? Therapy is the opportunity to discover that in the closet of your psyche, underneath all the hurt and the junk, what you threw out many years ago as useless about yourself is a source of treasure.
If you want to feel better about yourself and your life, if you want to trust what you know, feel and want, and become the way you want to be, and if you want to recapture the love and intimacy you used to have in your marriage, then email me or call me at 240 315-8100. I look forward to the chance to help you!
